  • I think for the most part they have a deterrent effect because individual criminals won't commit crimes in front of them. The more troubling thing would be street gangs who might do a driveby on them for fun. I guess Seattle doesn't have too many of those, it'd more dangerous in a city like LA.

  • No, quite simply rich people will pay 0% in income taxes because of charitable deductions and the fact capital gains are untaxed. The top 1% of incomes make more money through capital gains than regular income.

  • Basically Perry transferred 22% of GOP support to Cain. The two share 43% of Republican support in both polls. Romney is stuck at 23%. Tea party and religious conservatives simply will not support Romney.

  • I can understand now why Kadhaffi keeps trying to appeal to the US to stop NATO and the rebels.  It's not because he thinks the US is calling the shots.  It's because he thinks he has some special kinship with African- American officials.

  • My wife and I cannot have kids, and we've tried fertility treatment many times. We would have gladly adopted this infant. If she doesn't want her baby or couldn't take care of it, she could have dropped it off at the Fire Department. Someone would have taken care of him.

  • Both Obama and Clinton came from very poor backgrounds, raised by single moms. Obama's mom received public assistance at one point.

  • And he's taxed at 15%. All of his income is capital gains, which is a flat 15%--the same rate as someone making under $35K a year unlike us working fools who get taxed at 35%, 28% brackets etc. These investors don't create jobs, they just trade on a pyramid scheme.
